| The Apple Rooms (so called because apples harvested from the orchard were spread out on tables up here to ripen, then kept and used as needed by the farmer’s wife in her homemade pies and preserves)
This suite is the absolute epitome of luxury, well being and pure romance.
It is the whole of the east wing on the 1st floor. Three interconnecting rooms, a bedroom, personal drawing room and bathroom separated by panelling dating back to 1660. The rooms are light and airy especially since the windows boarded up because of the 1820s window tax have now been fully reinstated. All rooms overlook the front garden and pond and have glorious views of the sunrise.
The bedroom: An oh so comfortable four poster king size bed with sumptuous antique, monogrammed French linen sheets, a duvet and bedspread and oodles of luxury scatter cushions and pillows.
The private drawing room: With a wonderful blend of ‘the old & the new’. An amazing old decorated Chinese sideboard; a cosy sofa; dining table and chairs (have your breakfast brought to your room); tea and coffee making facilities; television, video and dvd.
The bathroom: An enormous old fashioned bathroom with a roll top air bath and an old Chinese medicine cabinet.
To luxuriate you further the bath soaks are made from organic French Beaujolais and Chablis wines; the locally made bath bags contain lavender and oatmeal to nourish the skin; there is a complimentary bottle of quality wine and fresh flowers or chocolates.
